My eldest spawn loves monkeys, and after telling me how much he wanted a Monchhichi but couldn't find one reasonably priced, I started looking. As I went through the listings, I remembered how much I had loved my Monchhichi when I was a child, and knew I had to try my hand at making a little monkey toy. A Mamachhichi, even. (I know, I know. I'm a nerd.)
I mean, seriously. How cute is that?!
This project gave me problems from day one. The cheap air dry clay was my first problem, but I struggled with every single part of this little guy, and there were times I wasn't sure I would get it finished. I even threw away the first version of him because I was so disgusted with the way it had turned out. It was a dark time.
But after a little time away, I was able to go back with new and much superior clay and rebuild him from the ground up.
And here he is! My spawn approves of him wholeheartedly, and that's really all I care about at the end of the day. Art should make us happy, and should help us give joy to the people we care about. That's what really matters.
